Adam Dunn’s Delusional Mind

Adam Dunn wants 4 years, $56 million dollars. Good luck with that. Have fun sitting out the 2009 season unless you want to come back to reality, Adam. If this is really his demand, I think that officially closes the Adam Dunn to Seattle chapter, and rightfully so.

    I think this might just be a negotiating ploy by Dunn’s agent. If Dunn gets an offer of 3 years $39M with a 4th year option he’ll probably take it. I don’t think he’ll sign until Abreu signs so he can ensure he gets a better contract than him, Ibanez and Bradley.

    I figured he was asking for something ridiculous. Orlando Hudson too. If they were smart they’d just sign 1-2 year deals and hope the economy/market is looking better next time around. It’s a bad year to be a non-elite free agent, and no demands are going to change that.

    I also read again today that Dunn does not want to DH and he wants to play the outfield. Talk about limiting your potential suitors. It’s time to move on from Adam Dunn.

    4 years/$56M wouldn’t have been shocking at all at the start of the offseason, but with the way things have gone it’s pretty crazy.

    Does anyone think Dunn can get more than 2 years/$24-26M at this point?

    I still beleive that a desperate team like the Nationals will give him 3 years/$39M. If Derek Lowe, who will be 36 in June, can get 4 years/$60M then Dunn should be able to get 3 years.
