Linkage: Felix’s Mechanics, Fernando Perez

A couple things of interest to wake up to:
- Driveline Mechanics‘ Kyle Boddy published his mechanical breakdown of Felix Hernandez. He has some concerns, but overall is very encouraged by what he sees.
overall I have to give him a very high grade for both his performance and his durability. I think that with proper conditioning and reasonable use of his arm in games that Felix has a good chance of having a long career in the majors without many injuries.
- Before Seattle acquired Franklin Guitierrez from the Indians they tried to get Fernando Perez from the Tampa Bay Rays in a three team deal with the Tigers, according to the Detroit Free Press. They probably would have gotten him if B.J. Upton wasn’t a question mark for Opening Day. Perez, 25, only has 23 big league games under his belt but has an impressive blend of blazing speed, pop and plate discipline.
Late bonus: The Batting Stance Guy!
