The pure stuff has been there from the beginning, and he can obviously get MLB hitters out right now (although it hasn't always been pretty), but yes, he'll be given plenty of time in the minors to build strength, fine tune and gain experience.

What does Seattle have going for their rotation next season? Felix, Morrow, RRS and Olson? If Aumont is invited to ST and impresses they could be tempted, especially if he finds himself in AA before the end of the 2009 season, but I think they'll be smarter than to rush him like that.

Let's not get carried away here. The dude has only logged 55 innings in low-A ball and is one year out of high school. He's likely going to be fighting for a rotation slot at AA next year.

That curve/slurve thing is nasty, if he can stay healthy, i think he'll be in the mix for a rotation spot next year.

I like what i'm seeing in Lopez lately. I watched the US/Venezuela game and he smoked three doubles if i recall correctly. Hopefully he's got the mobility to play second base again..

unitispat - it does indeed look like Lopez might have tweaked his batting stance a little, yes - I was noticing it during yesterday's USA/Venezuela game. Aside from being bent at the knees more, it looks like he might be planting his feet a lot farther apart.

Hope to get an answer to this one that is a little un related to the topic. I missed the entire baseball year last year being in the Navy and all. Did Lopez change his stance? I see he hit the weight room like you mentioned a while back, anyway, his stance just doesnt look the same to me. He's bent at the knees more than I remember.
