Maybe at some point, but if you have a guy that at least has a shot at starting you want to try and work out the kinks. The value going from a SP to a LOOGY is a pretty huge drop.

I've mentioned this before, and though it wasn't poo-pooed on it hasn't quite caught fire either.

In every one of his starts, Garrett Olson struggled mightily against righties, but was very effective against lefties.

Sounds like a LOOGY to me!

He really doesn't fit in. We just can't seem to shake him. Hopefully this spells the end of Bryan LaHair at very least.

Sherrill was a good lefty on lefty option outside of that he was pretty mediocre reliever. I didn't care much for him actually I just like beating a dead horse.

Sherrill is badly...badly overrated by Mariner fans. Does anyone notice his 5 BB/9 resume? Oh wait...we have like 27 trillion pitchers with 5 BB/9 resumes.

There will be a lot of guys around out there to be picked up, but they will be the usual guys that bounce around from organization to organization. If you follow the game, you see them invited to spring training by some team every year, and even if they don't make that team, you will see them picked up at some point by somebody during the year. But the M's seemed to have an abundance of relievers. So it seems strange now they might have to go shopping for the usual "Well travelled lefty reliever"
even if it is only a short term fix.

I would be shocked if the M's went with option B. My guess is the Big Z works a deal for a lefty in the next day or so. Perhaps involving Morse, maybe even work out a bigger Clement deal..?? I am really surprised they gave Lugo back and a I agree that they should have kept him on and put him in in low leverage situations.
