I thought when the M's signed Quiroz that he had zero chances of ever playing for the Mariners this year, even in September. Now here he is on the 40 man roster and back in the bigs. Mariner transactions remain quite unpredicatable.

I originally wrote a rant-ish post when I heard the news, but while it's not the move I would have made it shouldn't have been that surprising. Bringing up Moore would have been gutsy, Clement isn't a catcher at present and Burke is probably playing the role of Moore's mentor at AAA. It's a shame that Clement's knee is still barking at him.

Actually yes he's the best we can do right now.

Clement's knee is still not "healthy enough so he can play catcher." And Moore will be butchered by ML pitching. So that leaves Burke and Quiroz.

Guillermo Quiroz is the best we can do? This tells me Mariner's brass has already given up on this season.

Hi Jon, good to have you back.

I'm very pleased to see Adam Moore doing well at the plate with the Rainiers, but I think it is too early to bump him up to the big club. I think he'll be there by the end of the year though and will be either the everyday catcher in 2010 or at the very least the backup to Joh's contract...

One thing that folks have to realize about Moore is that his style of hitting will do well at any level and at any park. He isn't going to hit 30 homers, hell, I doubt if he hits 20, but he will hit a ton of doubles. Moore's swing is a power-punch to the abdomen and he generates a ton of power from his shoulders and hips. I absolutely love watching him at the plate! He'll be here in Colorado Springs next week and I have my tickets already! I'll be taking a ton of pictures when he gets here too!

I'm happy with Rob Johnson right now, no need to rush Clement, I have a feeling he's going to be traded anyways...

My 6th grade teacher's daughter is/was (dunno if still married) the wife of Jody Gerut :D When they played the Indians (he was on the Indians early in his career) the teacher taped it and we watched it during class. He was doing good for the Padres in that lead off spot. He had the first hit at Citi field a hr.

Went to the game Sunday and watched Yuni in the 2 hole, i believe his first two a bats he didn't swing a single time and he walked both times. Then Griffey hit that two run jack in that first, very exiting, It was good to see some power from him and Beltre. :D I was happy I guess that spark from sunday's offense was only a fluke, cause wow another one run game today. sign........................

I don't think they should rush him. Unless he is killing triple A pitching. You think Adam can one day take control of the whole pitching staff and be a leader om this team?
