As is, we are screwed w/r/t Beltre. Even if he comes back this season he is going to be very rusty, so I don't see him making it onto the A list. Personally, I'd like to see Beltre resign with the M's for one year to up his value on the FA market. Bedard will never make it to the A list. He will best serve the Mariners by either: - Resigning with the club at a team friendly rate - Get traded for some decent low-level prospects. My opinion is that it is the teams best interest to resign Bedard to a 3, maybe 4 year contract. I wouldn't offer him more than 12 mil per. Call me crazy, but I hope we resign Washburn. I'd love to see him inked to a team friendly two year deal. We currently just don't have anyone anywhere near to being ready to contribute at the MLB level, and to lose both Bedard and Washburn means '10 is in the tank.
