#8: Michael Garciaparra is no longer in the Mariner organization. He was picked up off waivers by the Phillies a while back. Tuiasosopo is coming around, showing flashes of brilliance and slowly developing the power he should have at his size. He could be a good major leaguer, but he's in no hurry to develop. Should get his first cup of coffee in Seattle this fall if he ends up on the 40-man roster or next year.

#9: All of our good pitching depth is in the lower levels. Beyond Ryan Feierabend and Ryan Rowland-Smith (and Brandon Morrow) the upper levels are pretty bare. Juan Ramirez, Phillipe Aumont and Michael Pineda are probably the top three arms in the system right now and all are in Wisconsin's (A) starting rotation right now, but figure to be big time pitchers when they finally do come around. There are several other intriguing arms in the lower levels, but nothing we can expect to see anytime soon.

That said, pitchers have a way of shooting through the minors in bursts, especially power pitchers.

And as far as what was shipped to Baltimore, Chris Tillman is pitching extrodinarily good for the Orioles' AA team. Butler is doing so-so. Haven't checked up on Mickolio for a while, but he's a reliever anyway.

I'm also wondering what kind of pitching depth we have in the minors. I know most of it has been shipped off to baltimore, but we gotta have something left, right?

Nothing wrong with that lineup. Those are all the best prospects for each position if they were to keep Triunfel at SS.

Rob, you're pretty well acquainted with the farm system. Do you have any discrepancies with this lineup? I think the only thing I'm thinking I would do differently is having DeJesus in there more prominently, but I forgot about him when doing the bulk of the writing and just threw him in as an afterthought.

Chen is becoming a non prospect these days. Its starting to look like he would even be lucky just to a bench player in the majors. He's also always hurt and he's out for the year with an injury this year.

Could Chen play SS? I'm really down on Yuni of late. He isn't improving and his body language isn't good either.

^not as a starter. Utility infielder, probably. Doesn't matter, because Jose Lopez is only 24 and is looking good. Lopez may move over to third base once Beltre leaves for defensive purposes, though, unless Tuiasosopo can add some consistancy to his game.
