According to the Tacoma Rainiers’ Twitter account, the Seattle Mariners have signed veteran SS/UT Alex Cintron to a minor league contract, though I’m told that they’re still waiting on a physical.

Cintron isn’t the answer at shortstop.  He’s kind of like a switch hitting version of Yuniesky Betancourt.  He’s a better option off the bench than Josh Wilson at very least, and he can relieve Ronnie Cedeno against righties with good sliders.
