They just lost their best power source throughout 08, and their left fielder. I think they might offer something like Desmond Jennings and Eduardo Morlan, because they know that Seattle wants two prospects, but I don't really think either of those guys are going to be any good at the major league level, especially given their struggles this season. Or there's the chance that Boston put in a claim to block the Rays. Otherwise, it could have realistically been the Tigers, Blue Jays or Rangers. As far as Washburn, it could be a bunch of different teams, even with the Yankees and White Sox uninterested (reportedly). Pitching is always in high demand. If it’s the Rays that claimed Ibanez, we may be able to get something worthwhile out of their rich farm system. Or there’s the chance that Boston put in a claim to block the Rays.
