Olson had options…it was an easy call. Batista will finish out the year but he’ll probably only get 10 more innings max. Then he’s gone anyway.

Not really worth debating… just a lazy sentence. Instead of saying “Hannahan is a stellar defender while Hall is merely a good one” I lumped them together. Point taken, Dustin.

UZR doesn’t disagree with me. He’s a +5 fielder at 3rd. Hardly “stellar.”

UZR disagrees with you. Hall at third base is a +5 run fielder…which is perfectly fine. Since Hannahan would probably get more PT than Hall in a platoon (and Hannahan is a +15 fielder) we wouldn’t be losing much from Beltre’s glove.
