There you have it.  J.J. Putz strikes out the side to emphatically slam the door on the A’s, giving Seattle their 61st win of the season.  It was a frustrating season by all accounts, but there were some bright spots.  Felix’s grand salami off of Johan Santana and Brandon Morrow’s first start were the two most exciting moments of the season for me. 

Compensatory picks or not, it’s sad to see Raul Ibanez leave, assuming that that’s what he’s doing.  He has been a personal favorite of mine since he first came up with the team in the Kingdome days, and his class and professionalism will be missed if he moves on.  Hopefully he can latch onto a winner (such as the Rays). 

Over the next few days and weeks we’ll be doing a lot of player outlooks, GM profiles and other end of the season things, so I hope you all stick around even though the season has concluded.  And if you were around last winter, you know we’re your home for Seattle Mariners rumors, so be sure to check here from time to time after the World Series is in the books.
