As we all know, Beltre has played this entire season with significant ligament damage in his thumb.  He’s been building a reputation for being able to perform through the pain, but it’s become to much for him lately and he’s set to have an MRI on it.  He’s had dye injected into his thumb to aide the MRI and will be out of the lineup for a few days while it sets in.

This will be a good opportunity for Matt Tuiasosopo, and perhaps an audition for next season should Beltre be traded over the offseason.
