If we can sign him relatively cheap, I would be all for it because no matter how you look at it, he's better than feierabend, he's better than batista, and he's better than silva. And it sucks that he most likely won't be able to pitch at the beginning of the year, but at least it opens up a spot on the rotation for RRS or Morrow. That’s assuming he can even come back from the injury.

Only way to avoid making the situation worse is to sign him to a multi year contract and hope he pitches like the Cy young guy we hoped for... or we literally traded away 5 players for not even 2/3 of a season of Bedard.
