No Labrum Tear for Bedard

Ryan Divish is reporting that there is no labrum tear in Erik Bedard’s shoulder.

This makes sense.  Back on the 17th I posted a Larry LaRue article that said the labrum was “frayed,” but then all of a sudden reports were coming out that it was torn.  I never fully believed it because the trainer said it was frayed while Bedard said it was torn.   Who would you be more likely to believe out of those two?  

A “minor labral rebridement” was performed by Dr. Yocum, a procedure done for less serious labral injuries.

Bedard still isn’t a lock to be ready for Opening Day, but there is a chance that he is.  With that, Seattle may refrain from non-tendering him, which probably isn’t a bad thing.

    The 6 month recovery is actually the max for Bedard so maybe april is when we’ll see him.
    Felix Bedard Morrow RRS will be a decent rotation won’t lose you 100 games.

    Feierabend has number 4-5 upside, meaning the rotation would really have to be stretched for him to get a legitimate shot. Currently we have Felix, RRS, Morrow and Silva as locks in the rotation for next year. Bedard could be ready sooner than later, making 5. There is also Washburn, who could be traded, and Batista, who will almost certainly land in the ‘pen.

    The only way I see Feierabend getting a shot is if Washburn is traded and Bedard isn’t ready for Opening Day, which is very possible, but even then I don’t think he has a future with this team. There is a reason he earned a nickname like “Weaverbend.”

    Justin Lehr is with Cincinnatti, I believe.
