Rainiers Make Playoffs

So…
Seattle Mariners AAA affiliate Tacoma Rainiers went on a dramatic 1995 Mariners-type run to tie the Colorado Springs Sky Sox for first place in the Pacific Coast League North, forcing a one game playoff, which they won en route to earning their first playoff berth since 2005.
Some people are pretty excited about this. I guess that’s what happens when the big club take a decade long break between playoff berths.
I don’t really follow minor league teams, just players. I’m sure the whole theory that it’s important to get players accustomed to winning before they get to the big leagues has some merit, but with the Mariners barely playing for anything at this point I’d sure like to see Matt Tuiasosopo, Adam Moore and whoever else makes it into that second batch of September callups playing for the big club down the stretch. At least we get Brandon Morrow, and I’m sure he’s more excited about being back in a big league rotation than he was about the PCL playoffs.
