Roster Moves

LHP Garrett Olson, 3B Matt Tuiasosopo and C Adam Moore are joining the Seattle Mariners. Olson and Tuiasosopo are already on the 40-man roster, so no corresponding roster move was necessary. Moore wasn’t, so RHRP Stephen Kahn was placed on release waivers. Kahn is a very talented pitcher, but has been completely unable to stay healthy.
No Carlos Silva? I’m certainly not complaining– just surprised.
Update: Baker says Silva will join the team on Tuesday.
Update: LaRue has manager Don Wakamatsu as saying Moore could get 2 starts, but not much more playing time.

If Olson is used more than as just a LOOGY I’ll be pissed to say the least. The guy just doesn’t deserve to sniff the mound for another start. If I had to chose between Silva and Olson I’d go with Silva, and then puke.
Two starts for Adam Moore, eh? Well, he’s up as an emergency catcher and to soak in what life is like at the MLB level, so his playing time actually means very little in the here and now. Something to consider is that if he gets more playing time then the rumors should start flying as to the status going forward of Johjima. I’ve seen quite a few rumors floating around about how he won’t be with the M’s next year. We’ll see, I guess.
