Phillies World Series Champs

A weird World Series comes to an end as Brad Lidge continues his save streak.  Just about everyone I’ve come across were rooting for the Rays to take this one and I was too.  I don’t like the Phillies, but I sure am happy for Jaime Moyer.  A big congrats goes out to our old friend (no pun intended).

At least ESPN gets a new NE team to slobber all over.  *sigh

I wasn’t paying a huge amount of attention these last couple days, but I’m happy for Moyer too. It’s funny, he and the Big Unit both won the Series a couple years after leaving Seattle. A quote from Jamie tonight: “My whole career, it’s been worth it. Worth it for this moment. To wait and finally get this win, it’s so worth everything.”

Am I the only Mariners fan that doesn’t really care that Moyer “finally got a ring?” Look, he was a great Mariner. He did a lot on and off the field. But lets face it, he got a ring, and it wasn’t with the Mariners. I loved the guy as a Mariner, but he won it all with the Phillies. I’m not really all excited for him. The same could be said about Greg Dobbs. I liked him when he was here, but now he’s not.

Anybody else see it my way?

I see it your way when it comes to Dobbs, but Moyer is one of those guys that you have to be happy for. Even if he never was a Mariner it’s a great story for the 45 year old ‘good guy’ to get a ring after putting in all those years. I’m very happy for Moyer and it gives his long career validation.

Yea I’m very happy for Jamie Moyer…If he pitches until he’s 50 he can win 300 games and go to the HOF as a Mariner! Haha..but seriously Moyer will always be one of my favorite Mariners along with…. Griffey, Edgar, Buhner and Wilson!
