The Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed Chris Jakubauskas and the Boston Red Sox have claimed Robert Manual off of waivers.

UPDATE: This Jakubauskas quote from Geoff Baker is kind of fun:

“It’s kind of bittersweet news,” Jakubauskas told me, adding that he was blindsided by the move. “The Mariners called me today and told me what they’d done and my first thought was ‘Wow, I hope I get claimed.’ Then the next thing they told me was that I’d been claimed by the Pirates.”

Translation: I was hoping I’d get claimed, but then I found out it was the Pirates that claimed me, so it’s bittersweet.
