The Josh Wilson Era Has Ended
by Jon ~ November 25th, 2009
According to the Baseball America transaction logs the Seattle Mariners have granted Josh Wilson his release after removing him from the 40-man roster last week.
This shouldn’t be newsworthy considering Josh Wilson is a journeyman infielder who isn’t very good, but there have been enough fans out there who have made it clear that they prefer him to Jack Wilson and let his baby face convince them that he’s a prospect with promise that I figured I should mention it in hopes of ending the madness.
He’s not a member of the Seattle Mariners organization right now, so let’s move on.
Edit for archiving purposes: Josh Wilson was re-signed. Booo

So we now have 4 open spots on the 40 man roster?

No, still 3. Removing Wilson from the 40-man was one of the many moves that brought the roster to 37 last week.

I’m almost as sad as I was when the Felix Fermin era came to an end….
