Burke Non-Tendered

As I expected, backup catcher Jaime Burke wasn’t tendered a contract. He is a free agent, and Seattle has no room at the catching position to bring him back.
Burke, a career minor leaguer (more or less) before spending the last two seasons in full with the Seattle Mariners, becomes a free agent. Jaime was a solid backup catcher who brought the best out of his pitchers and was a classy guy as well. Here’s to him finding another major league job!
Felix Hernandez, Erik Bedard and Aaron Heilman were all tendered contracts.

I still think the squeeze was Burke’s greatest moment as a Mariners (or a MLB ballplayer).

Burkey was a great guy and calls a great game. He played hard all the time, sad to see him go. I wonder how Bedard feels seeing as he named Burke as his catcher whenever he pitched.
