False Hope

From Kirby Arnold:
If there’s still a need in left field when spring training begins, LaHair knows just who can fill it: himself.
LaHair played several games in left field during his first pro season with the Everett AquaSox in 2003 and a few dozen more the next year at Class A Wisconsin while the Timber Rattlers’ regular left fielder, Wladimir Balentien, was playing with the Dutch team at the Athens Olympics.
“I’d been an outfielder my whole life. Left field is like my second home,” LaHair said last week before a workout at the Mariners’ training complex in Peoria, Ariz. “First base is my home now, but if you gave me two weeks in left field, I would be ready to play there.”
Oh, Bryan… You don’t stand a chance.

What are his stats in left? Does anyone know? Then again, maybe he was switched to first because someone decided that left field was NOT where he was ready to play…

It really has more to do with the bat than with the glove. He isn’t likely to hit enough to make it in the big leagues, though by looking at him he doesn’t seem like he’d be much of a defender out there. LaHair won’t hit enough to be a starter at any position in the big leagues.

Ah, yeah; so much focus has been put on defense lately, I forget that we occasionally bat. LOL
And I would agree with you, for sure. He just isn’t there. I wanted to like him – he was young, enthusiastic. But not good. :/

Have never seen him play OF, but watching him run, my guess his OF defense would be Broussardesque.
