Would that make Yunel Escobar an option to trade for?? He would be a huge upgrade over Yuni at short. He was rated a +21 defensively according to Dewan’s +/- Fielding Bible, +10 defensively according to Tom Tango’s Fan Scouting Report and +12 defensively according to Lichtman’s UZR. We all know what Yuni's '08 ratings were. And Yunel gets on base. He posted a .366 OBP and walked 59 times. That is a lot more than Yuni's whopping 17 walks! And Escobar wouldn't cost the M's much.
