M’s Reach Out to Dunn

According to John Hickey, the Seattle Mariners are in preliminary talks with free agent Adam Dunn’s representatives.

With no draft pick penalty attached, I’ve thought that Dunn would be a free agent worth kicking the tires on.  Dunn has some of the best raw power in all of baseball and is one of the most disciplined hitters in the league.  He would be an asset to the Seattle Mariners on a 2-3 year deal, as long as he was the DH or first baseman.

I’ll write more about Dunn if talks pick up.

    Isn’t Dunn basically a younger version of Sexson tho? He may hit more home runs, but, like Big Richie, Ks a ton.

    If we can get him for the right price, and not in the OF, i’d say go for it though.

    The difference:

    Dunn averages 114 walks and a .381 OBP per 162 games
    Sexson averages 70 walks and a .344 OBP

    Dunn can still get on-base…
