My Winter Meetings Visit

I spent around 6 hours at the Winter Meetings in the Belaggio yesterday and it was awesome. I saw so many people.
Writers I saw:
Steve Phillips
Peter Gammons
Ken Rosenthal
Jayson Stark
John Heyman
Just about every other ESPN writer
I also ran into Geoff Baker and had a small chat
Managers I saw:
Lou Piniella (no joke he was in the sports book making $5 bets on horse racing)
Tommy Lasorda
GM’s I saw:
Brian Cashman fresh off his flight from San Francisco in street clothes
Mark Shapiro (dude was wearing a t-shirt and basketball shorts)
Pat Gillick
Omar Minaya
Players I saw:
Ellis Burks
Michael Tucker
Wayne Gomes
Brad Lidge
Harold Reynolds
Derek Jeter (surrounded by like 8 security guards ad wouldnt let anybody take pictures or get his autograph)
I got some autographs and I was able to get a few pictures with some of the people. In terms of inside info, sorry nobody would tell me anything. (Photos after the jump)

That’s pretty cool, Rob. I’m jealous. Next time the Meetings are in a worthwhile location I may have to take a trip. (Indianapolis in 2009 isn’t going to cut it.)
