Trayvon Robinson to Orioles for Robert Andino
Just a few minutes ago, the Mariners announced that they have traded outfielder Trayvon Robinson to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for infielder Robert Andino. Andino played mostly second base for the O's in 2012 but he likely slots in as the Mariners utility infielder, replacing Munenori Kawasaki and (hopefully) Chone Figgins. Andino hit just .211/.283/.305 last season (61 wRC+) but he does have the ability to fill in for Brendan Ryan at shortstop.
Robinson leaves the organization with a .215/.272/.330 line in ~300 plate appearances as a Mariner. Robinson was out of options and with the acquisition of Scott Cousins, he no longer had a role in the organization. I wish him all the best as an Oriole.
